UK: Drug Dealer Jailed
News and Star, Carlisle
Saturday 09 Feb 2008 A DRUG addict caught selling cannabis from his flat in Penrith has been sent to prison for 12 months. Craig Tunstall, 20, pleaded guilty at Carlisle Crown Court to possessing the drug with intent to supply it. The court heard he was living at Impact Housing’s Pategill House after becoming homeless when staff became suspicious of what he was doing and searched his room. They found signs of drug dealing and later discovered he had hidden four bags of cannabis in the cistern in the bathroom. His barrister Brendan Burke said Tunstall, who had a “runaway cannabis addiction”, had sold the class C drug to “those foolish enough to have the same interests as himself”. He had now given up drugs and was determined to give up crime, he said. The court heard probation staff believed Tunstall, who has recently been living in Bridge Street, Appleby, was “again consorting with previous criminal associates” and showing a disregard for court orders. Judge Paul Batty QC said he was an example of the harm cannabis could do. http://www.newsandstar.co.uk/news/viewarticle.aspx?id=598541
