UK: Police Raid Huge City Drugs Factory
Lincolnshire Echo
Wednesday 13 Feb 2008 Police have raided one of the biggest cannabis factories ever seen in Lincoln. Hundreds of plants worth tens of thousands of pounds were found growing inside a house on a residential street. The bust took place at an address in Lincoln, which cannot be revealed for legal reasons, at around 10am yesterday. A team of specialist officers, acting on a tip-off from the public and their own investigation, forced entry to the house. Inside they found one of the most professional and sophisticated operations ever seen in the city. Four large rooms of the spacious detached, rented house were devoted to growing the plants under an elaborate lighting, heating and ventilation system. A 42-year-old Vietnamese man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is currently helping police with their inquiries. Chief Superintendent Alec Wood said the raid had been a huge success. "We will continue to tackle drug-related crime in the city," he said. "If people carry on producing and supplying in this manner then we will continue to respond swiftly and robustly." http://www.thisislincolnshire.co.uk/
