UK: Man jailed for supplying drug

Great Yarmouth Mercury

Monday 17 Mar 2008

---
A GREAT Yarmouth man involved in the large scale supply of cannabis was
jailed for 15 months at Norwich Crown Court last Friday .

Dock worker Marc Kane, 27, was found to have a large amount of skunk
cannabis at his home in Great Northern Close and about £3,877 in cash.
When arrested Kane told officers he had wanted to get extra money as his
partner had a baby on the way.

Further police investigations found that Kane also had £28,000 in two
bank accounts.

When interviewed he said he had been selling cannabis to fund his own habit.

Kane admitted supplying cannabis from January 2007 until October 2007.

Richard Wood, mitigating, said Kane had been frank in his interview with
police: “He was not earning a profit he was funding his habit.”

He added that £15,000 of the money in his bank account had been cash he
had inherited from his father and he had also been saving much of his
wages by staying with family and friends.
