Tom Hewitt (postbag, Thursday) considers talking about cannabis for medicinal use is confusing the issue. Why? its relevant.

It is frightening to see our elected officials' response to the drug situation: Bloodymindely continuing with failed US zero-tolerance drug policies.

Prohibition causes intolerance, ignorance and conflict, keeping potentially dangerous substances in the hands of the very people Mr Hewitt wants to target.
