Legalise Cannabis Alliance candidate to stand for Parliament

Peterborough Herald And Post

Wednesday 10 May 2000

---

Controversial candidate, Marcus Davies has his eye on becoming an MP after failing to win enough support under the Legalise Cannabis Alliance banner on Thursday.

The 31 year old from East Ward uses cannabis to ease epilepsy and is calling for it to be legalised.

He scooped 85 votes on the night "I didn't think I would win but I got more votes than I expected. It has been an experience."

"I had a fantastic amount of support and I have met some very interesting people."

And the father of two hasn't hung up his political dreams just yet, "There's always the general elections," he said.
