Cannabis Invades the Polls LCA LCA Press Release Tuesday 08 May 2001 Prospective candidates from a variety of backgrounds are preparing to submit their nomination papers to stand under the umbrella of the Legalise Cannabis Alliance (LCA). A spokesman from the LCA said: "The number of candidates is severely limited by lack of funds rather than lack of suitable people." The LCA does not run a membership, preferring to attract support through endorsement of Principles, Aims and Proposals from across the political spectrum. This avoids conflict between supporters and their parties. There are almost 1000 endorsees to date. Endorsements can be made on line at http://www.lca-uk.org The LCA is far from being a "single issue" party. LCA policies include cannabis related issue such as Human Rights, Law and Order, Drugs and Crime, Health, The Environment, Fuel, Pollution, Education, Agriculture, Trade and Employment. Candidates may also hold and express views on other matters during their campaign, although clearly every vote cast will be in support of the legalisation of cannabis.
