Progress Report - July 2001
Alun Buffry LCA
Saturday 04 Aug 2001 High, We thought it would be a good idea to let you know just how much progress the Legalise Cannabis Alliance is making by way of the occasional e-mailed news page. If the level of activity keeps up we hope to send out a message like this once a month. We want every endorsee to feel that they are apart of the LCA, whether or not you have ever been or ever will be a candidate in an election. We want to inspire you to play a more active role in the campaign generally. We want to persuade those of you who have not yet endorsed our Principles, Aims and Proposals to do so now - it can be done on line at http://www.lca-uk.org. This newsletters will include statistics such as how many new endorsees in the last month, as well as a breakdown of our income and expenses - you will see that we are operating on a shoe-string budget, struggling along and pretty desperate for funds. We want you all to understand that the future of the LCA mostly depends upon you, the supporters. If every person who receives this sent just 1 pound per month we could do so much more (just £12 a year each). Gone are our hopes of sizable donations from millionaire pop stars, and dealers seldom cough up cash for the cause. Without fund-raising activities and regular support from our endorsees... The Legalise Cannabis Alliance is administered to by a group of 4 dedicated "executive officers", bound by a written Constitution (available on the LCA web site). As of August 1st the officers are: Don Barnard (Press Officer) Alun Buffry (Nominating Officer and National Coordinator) The Technical Officer (Technical Officer) High Robertson (Treasurer and Webmaster) The post of Fund-Raiser is now vacant. The LCA has 1100 endorsements to our Principles, Aims and Proposals, 65 new during July. ACCOUNTS: July 2001 Income from donations = £42.50 Income from sales = £100 Expenses : Postage = £141.75 Printing = £112.80 Stationery = £92 Transport = £6 Balance: minus £210.05 **** That's a shoe-string budget alright.
