Cannabis Hemp Awareness Day

LCA

Announcement

Sunday 23 Mar 2003

---

INVITE from CLCIA - LCA - All over 18 Welcome.

In October 2001 the Home Secretary made a statement that cannabis would be
reclassified under the misuse of drugs act from class B to class C, due to
take place in July of this year. When this happens, under the Europen
convention of Human rights, adult use of cannabis in the priovacy of one's
own home would no longer be an arrestable offence. In anticipation of this,
the CLCIA/LCA present the 'cannabis hemp awareness day', to give information
about the many and varied uses of the plant known as cannabis hemp.

The University of East Anglia Students Union Entertainments are hosting
the Cannabis Hemp Awareness Day.

The event is being jointly organised by the Legalise Cannabis Alliance
http://www.lca-uk.org) and the Campaign to Legalise Cannabis International
Association (CLCIA http://www.clcia.org.uk).

The full timetable is yet to be planned but we intend to make this into a
social day, a chance for campaigners to meet up and chat, as well as an
information event for everyone - Open invite.

We will be showing at least the first half of the excellent documentary film
"Green Britain" along with other videos.

Billy McCann, author of The Homegrowers Manual - and stand-up comedian,
has agreed to come along and entertain us and we are inviting some other -
"big names".
