We know how to legalise cannabis
Don Barnard Press Release
Saturday 03 May 2003 by Alun Buffry [National Coordinator] for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance Speaking to around 25,000 cannabis campaigners and user and NON USERS at The 5th Annual Cannabis March and Festival in Brixton on May 3 Alun Buffry of the Legalise Cannabis announced the LCA'S future plans and aspirations to a Norwich based campaigner for legalisation Mr Buffry said: "The Legalise Cannabis Alliance was formed as a political party in 1999. Since then we have contested over 30 elections and gained over 7% in one. Our average vote of about 1.7% is excellent for such a new and low-budget party. Our very presence in elections, and in between, has stimulated debate and helped bring about shifts in the cannabis policies of other parties. Some now support legalisation, although they stubbornly refuse to push for it. "Politicians make and change laws - we put the politicians in power - they are interested in votes. We intend to show them that there is great public support for legalisation. We believe that the way to change the law is through the ballot box at election times. "Already the LCA is causing a stir and attracting attention.... "BUT, they ain't seen nothing yet!"
