Legalise Cannabis Alliance to name and shame UK MPs

Don Barnard

Press Release

News Release Issued by:

Legalise Cannabis Alliance,

"The Legalise Cannabis Alliance, a political party since 1999, calls upon
all MP's and MSP's, as well as aspiring politicians, Church leaders and
other dignities to sign the online petition calling for an investigation in
the plight of Multiple Sclerosis sufferer Biz Ivol or to provide a good
reason for not signing..

We intend to name and shame those who do not sign - for their lack of
compassion.
***************

PLEASE take a few minutes out of your busy day to make yourself familiar
[if not already] with the sad case of Mrs Biz Ivol who has multiple
sclerosis. http://www.ccguide.org.uk/bizivol.html

Biz has been waiting 2 years for a court case to come to court and her
health has suffered terribly in that time. Her eyesight is failing and she
is unable to use her hands much. She is unable to walk.

The quality of Biz's life is now so bad that she no longer wishes to be
alive

Biz's court case started on 18 July and has been adjourned until July 2

Mrs Ivol denies a charge of possession of cannabis, supplying 'cannabis
chocolate free of charge' to fellow MS sufferers and cultivation of
cannabis which she used to make the chocolate

Legalise Cannabis Alliance Press Office Don Barnard said: "This is it not
about legalising cannabis, scoring points or towing the
party political line. It is about justice, compassion and fair play and
should be of interest to everyone - regardless of Religion, race or
political allegiances.

"Pinochet didn't go on trial because of his alleged ill health and he
caused the deaths of over 2000 people...and he was supported by Maggie
Thatcher and many in the Tory party!...Pinochet was no where as ill as Biz.
...how can we call this justice!

"I am curious what overriding factors convinced the Justice Department it
was in the interest of law and order, public health or national security to
bring this case forward against Biz."

Alun Buffry, National Coordinator of the LCA of which Biz Ivol is a member,
said: "The House of Lords and the BMA have both asked that the prosecution
of severely ill medicinal cannabis users be eased and 90 per cent of the
public, at least, support them. The only people seemingly willing to stand
up and accuse Mrs Ivol of a crime are those paid by the state. There is no
justification for prosecuting a seriously ill person who has done no harm."

The LCA has a Petition calling for a full investigation this sad case at
http://www.lca-uk.org/petition/

PETITION TEXT [SEE 2]

The LCA has emailed Bob Ainsworth MP and the Home Office requesting that
the Home Secretary and/or Ministers to bring this to the attention of
government and/or intervene in this case.

LCA have also contacted Westminster MP's asking them to
intervene and/or sign the LCA petition... to date only MEP Marco Cappato
and Dr Ian Gibson MP, Basildon also Conservative Councillor Chris Jackman
[Wickford] have signed.

Don Barnard said: "The petition is attracting support from around the
world as the people get to hear about this terrible injustice they
'let their fingers do the talking' ....There are 85,000 young adult MS
sufferers and if they all signed we could have 100'000 by July 2.
Unfortunately not all are even able to sign or type at all

Will you be there!

Kind regards
Don Barnard
