Disability Now - Medicinal Cannabis Use Survey
Don Barnard Press Release
Tuesday 26 Aug 2003 KEEPING YOU INFORMED Legalise Cannabis Alliance, http://www.lca-uk.org donbarnard@lca-uk 07984 255015 MEDICINAL CANNABIS USE SURVEY I hope you will consider this of sufficient importance to bring it to the attention of your editor/audience. From: http://www.disabilitynow.org.uk/features/features_5.htm Take part in our cannabis survey We would like to hear from disabled people who take cannabis for medical purposes. Please fill in the survey below. The government could change the law by this summer, effectively allowing people to use cannabis for recreational use. Possession would not be an arrestable offence, but supplying it would be. But the government is not prepared to consider issuing licences allowing cannabis products to be prescribed by doctors until 2003. Should disabled people have to wait for reliable and legal supplies? MP Paul Flynn, who is backing DN's survey, says: "We need this information because the government is certainly in the mood for change, but uncertain about what would be most beneficial." Of 200 readers who responded to a DN survey in 1997, 67 per cent had taken cannabis for medical purposes, and a quarter said their GP knew or approved. Ninety-eight per cent wanted cannabis legalised. Take part in our cannabis survey please click here for form. http://www.disabilitynow.org.uk/images/P15%20Profile.pdf LCA welcomes this survey and will be encouraging people to join in.
