Colin Preece & Nick Faulkner Press Release
Sunday 30 Jun 2002 The Home Secretary has noted that the 'War on Drugs' imported from the United States, is never going to do anything but turn more ordinary people into 'criminals' and that there is a direct relationship between money spent on enforcing the Misuse of Drugs Act 1971, And Drug Dealers profits, and thus the power that they are able to wield against the communities. He has taken all that into account, Yet, he has totally disregarded the many other beneficial uses of cannabis that can improve everyone quality of life - WHY? There are a couple of important things people should know about the plant known as Cannabis Sativa Hemp. The laws against Cannabis have nothing to do with it's effects. Medically or Socially. Cannabis Sativa Hemp is a crop which has over 35,000 different uses, as a source of fibre for textile, or biomass for energy it could rescue the rural economy of Britain. In sum, Cannabis A.K.A. Hemp is the only thing missing from the Governments drive towards sustainable energy. [1] As a fast growing crop, that require few or no 'Agrochemical's and will grow almost anywhere in the World, yet has the potential to provide for the majority of our needs in terms of Fuel / Energy, both Industrial and Household, The vast majority of our fibre requirements, whether that be for textiles or papers, could provide most of our building materials whilst actually removing CO2 from the atmosphere. [2] Colin Preece Legalise Cannabis Alliance Midlands Spokesperson said: "Call me old fashioned but that sounds like a 'good' thing. "You can build houses out of a hemp/lime mix acts as bricks, insulation and water-proofing in one.A Suffolk Housing Association and the Local Council finished two houses made largely of hemp last year, and are monitoring how they perform. Richard Scales, a partner at the architects' firm that designed the houses, [with several hundred grand in government grants] recently said Preliminary results show that it's actually using less energy than traditional houses. [3] Colin said; "The global environmental need for mass production and processing far out weighs the need for prohibition and the works of hemcore and the like with their horse bedding, is but a trickle in the hemp stream. "Knowing what we know about hemp it's insanity only handful of houses and one shop have as yet been made out of it, - Terry Waite lives in one of the houses in Suffolk somewhere. "As for bedding for horses and cat litter, wow! Nick Faulkner Teeside / N Yorks LCA Spokes person said "You can make diesel out of it, as an energy crop it beats the competition hands down. [4] "Anything that can be made from a Hydro Carbon can be made from a Carbohydrate - Hemp is the worlds best source of Carbohydrate. "Jack Herer his Book The Emperor Wears No Clothes said cannabis prohibition came about as a conspiracy between the petrochemical and pharmaceutical companies who saw there profits would fall if hemp was allowed to flourish - Despite $10,OO0 Challenge no one has proved him wrong. "The Popular Mechanics (February 1938) described it as the New Billion Dollar Crop - interestingly this was the first use of the word Billion which should tell you how important it was seen. Jack Herer said: If all fossil fuels and their derivertives.......SEE ATTACHED Editor contacts: Colin Preece Phone: 0121 743 3443 druiddude@hotmail.com http://communities.msn.co.uk/druiddudeonip THE PUN Nick Faulkner: Phone 07732078502 nick.faulkner@ntlworld.com http://www.unclenicks.net/tchi/ Jack Herer Phone: hempjack@earthlink.net OTHER AREAS LCA SPOKES PERSONS: http://www.ccguide.org.uk/contacts.html Please note some of these contact numbers may have change if you have any difficulties contact donbarnard@lca-uk.org Don Barnard Said: "Once we look beyond the emotional bias attached to cannabis, it is clear that it is not a dangerous drug but simply an agricultural product with tremendous demand - As a result of prohibition we have lost a valuable health promoting agricultural crop.
