Cannabis Party Condemns Political Censorship Don Barnard Press Release Tuesday 11 Nov 2003 Press Office Legalise Cannabis Alliance PO Box 198, Norwich, NR3 3WB http://www.lca-uk.org REPLY TO: donbarnard@lca-uk.org Tel: 07984 255015 CANNABIS PARTY CONDEMNS POLITICAL CENSORSHIP County Council's are blocking access to the Legalise Cannabis Alliance website -- The Legalise Cannabis Alliance (LCA) a registered UK political party. Anyone who uses the Internet from "Essex" and "Northamptonshire" County Council libraries to access the LCA website http://www.lca-uk.org receives a message on the screen stating access is barred because the site "allegedly" advocates drug taking. Does your local Library block http://www.lca-uk.org. SHOULD IT ? Legalise Cannabis Alliance statement: With the Lords debating cannabis reclassification today we find it astounding that our website is banned from public access in Libraries "How can we debate matters relating to cannabis legislation when only one side allowed to put its case? "Statutory Authorities should not deny public from accessing a legitimate political Website - "Smacks of censorship to us". "The LCA does not advocate or encourage anyone to use drugs. "The Legalise Cannabis Alliance is a registered as a political party and like many other political party's we advocate Drug Law Reform. Every registered Party must have parity with other parties who advocate legalising cannabis or drug law reform." *Editors/researchers note [See policy of All UK politic parties] at: http://www.ukcia.org/pollaw/politics2001.php And www.ccguide.org.uk/vote.html For local Interviews More information REPLY TO: Don Barnard donbarnard@lca-uk.org Tel: 07984 255015 OR: LCA National Co-coordinator: Alun Buffry e-mail AlunBuffry@lca-uk.org 01603 442215 End
