Subject: Reminder - Cannabis demo at Westminster

3/04 - Cannabis demo at Westminster

I BEG you to take some time out to read the history of Chris Baldwins
political fight for justice which has resulted in him being jailed for six
months.

For those who have not picked up this story, I can only hope you will
reconsider giving it an airing?

With the proposed reclassification of cannabis on the 29 January I feel this
is an important area that should be highlighted!

AFTER reclassification of cannabis on the 29 January, the Police guidelines
of presumption of non-arrest may well result in a reduction of arrest of
otherwise law abiding citizens.

AFTER reclassification on Jan 29 "Cannabis possession will still be an
illegal drug". And that means preventing the sick and dying from cultivating
and using the only medicine that works for many of them.

Why should someone be classed as a criminal and thrown in jail simply for
growing and consuming a plant providing they are doing no harm and posing no
threat to anyone. Surely this can't be right?

Friends and Supporters of Chris Baldwin are preparing to protest outside
parliament fifteen days into his prison sentence on Wednesday January 21st
AND the Wednesday 28/29 January.

With your help to highlight -the injustice in this case it could be bigger!

COINCIDENTALLY - ON THE SAME DAY (21 January)

Green Party London Assembly candidate, Shane Collins, has been summonsed to
appear in Court 2. Tower Bridge Magistrates Court, 211 Tooley St, London at
2pm Wednesday 21st January.

The charge is over licensing violations at the FREE Cannabis Carnival held
on 4th May 2003 at Brockwell Park, Brixton.

The Council allege a sound system was still turned on 10 minutes after the
licence permitting it!

Mr Collins is pleading not guilty.

A north Wales man has been cleared of supplying cannabis to sick people in
what may be a landmark case.
Jeffrey Ditchfield, 43, from Rhyl, was found not guilty of the possession
of cannabis with intent to supply after he told a jury at Chester Crown
