Cannabis Users Must Face The Consequences of Illegality

Carol Young

Hull Daily Mail

Monday 16 Feb 2004

---

I Would like to reply to the criticism's made of me by Alexander Donis
(Letters, February 11).

In response to the suggestion that I failed to take certain fundamental points
into account I would like to say that I feel it is Mr Donis who has missed the
point entirely.

I did not, as suggested, attack cannabis user Carl Wagner personally, nor did I
express any dislike for him. I merely gave an opinion based on the facts, which
are (like it or not) cannabis is an illegal drug and as such carries the risk
of arrest.

I then went on to say that those who "intentionally" go against the law must
accept the consequences of their actions and not blame other people for their
unfortunate distress.

At no point did I express any personal beliefs about cannabis and the laws
surrounding its use and as such feel that Mr Donis' criticism of me is unjust
to say the very least.

Carol Young,

Jalland Street,

Hull.
