Brit soccer fans will be allowed to smoke dope to keep calm!

Thursday 10 Jun 2004 England fans have been permitted to smoke dope before their football team's opening Euro Cup fixture against France at Lisbon's Stadium of Light, to keep them calm. According to The Sun, Lisbon police plans to crack down on drunk fans while those smoking cannabis will go free. The pot-smoking fans have been assured that they will neither be arrested, cautioned or even have their drugs confiscated. "If people are drinking they lose control, if they smoke cannabis they don't. Alcohol makes fans fight. But cannabis smokers will be shaking hands and singing along together," Alun Buffry of the Legalise Cannabis Alliance was quoted as saying. "If people cause a problem through drugs and become a menace then police will take action. But when this doesn't happen why should the police be the ones making the fuss?" a Lisbon police spokeswoman said. (ANI)
