Ditchfield to stand in Vale

AN outspoken pro-cannabis supporter is vying to become an MP at the General=
=20
Election on May 5.

Former Henllan resident Jeff Ditchfield has been unveiled as The Legalise=20
Cannabis Alliance=B4s prospective candidate for the Vale of Clwyd.

Mr Ditchfield will be familiar to readers as the man who wanted to open a=20
Dutch-style cannabis caf=E9 in the region.

The campaigner, who went on to open a shop in Rhyl called It Beggar=92s=20
Belief, was found not guilty of supplying cannabis at Chester Crown Court=20
in 2004.

l If you=B4re not already on the electoral register to be able to vote it is=
=20
now too late to be able to register to vote in the forthcoming election.=20
The deadline for registration was March 11 as we announced in a press=20
notice on February 22.

If you have recently moved house within the county or will be moving=20
between now and the election and you did not inform us of the change of=20
address before 11 March, you could still be registered at your original=20
address.

In this case, you will be able to vote but only in the area of your=20
original address. For example, if you have moved from a house in Rhyl to=20
live in Ruthin, you may find that you will be eligible to vote in Rhyl=20
(Vale of Clwyd constituency) rather than Ruthin (Clwyd West constituency).

You can have your poll card sent to your new address, and you can either=20
vote by post or travel back to your old home area polling station.

Anyone can choose to vote by post, whatever the reason. If you have not=20
already registered for a postal vote, you must apply before 5 pm on=20
Thursday, April 26, 2005.

To request a postal vote call 01824 706104 or download an application form=
=20
from the website: Welsh www.sirddinbych.gov.uk Gwasanaethau Etholiadol in=20
the A-Y English www.denbighshire.gov.uk look for Electoral Services - Home=
=20
page in the A-Z

If you have recently moved to Denbighshire and are registered in another=20
council area, please contact your former council for a postal vote.
