Tuesday 05 Apr 2005 A FORMER drugs smuggler who was once Britain's most wanted man visited a shop last week to sign copies of his books. Howard Marks went to the Beggars Belief store in Water Street, Rhyl, to meet fans and sign copies of his books Mr Nice and Howard Marks' Book of Dope Stories. The Welsh-born author and magazine columnist is being considered as a candidate for the Legalise Cannabis Alliance who aim to make a stand for parliament in the General Election. During the mid 1980s, Howard had 43 aliases, 89 phone lines and 25 companies trading throughout the world and spent seven years in one of America's toughest prisons after he was arrested. He was freed in 1995.
