Does Tony Blair tell porkies? We know so!
Alun Buffry Press Release
Tuesday 26 Apr 2005 The Tory and Lib Dems are accusing Tony Blair of telling untruths and misleading the British public over events leading up to the invasion of Iraq. The Legalise Cannabis Alliance has been aware since 1997, that Tony Blair does not tell the truth about the relative safety of cannabis and the many potential beneficial uses of hemp. Indeed, previous to that, the Tory party also refused to tell the public the facts, preferring to criminalise some 10" of the adult population who admit to using cannabis, including many suffering from dreadful ailments eased by cannabis, who were also taken to court. The FACT that successive Governments have bowed to US pressure on continuing this unjustifiable prohibition on a plant that was grown and used in the UK for hundreds of years without problem, thereby selling us out to industrialists who synthesise alternative to hemp's natural products, charging extortionate fees for fuel, plastic and drugs, whilst polluting the world. The UK Government and cabinet have been well aware that this is happening and made no moves to change the situation. The Government continues to deny that the plant itself has any medicinal value, thereby accusing many tens of thousands of suffering people liars!! As well as being a recreational and medicinal substance, cannabis, grown locally, is a valuable source of fibre and even food (the seed) and the waste biomass is easily convertible to an environmentally-friendly fuel. Legalisation of cannabis would re-enable its use as a medicine, a food, a fibre and as a source of fuel. It would boost employment, lower costs and help reclaim the air!# The Government refuses to admit these facts and thereby deliberately continues to mislead the public about cannabis, preferring to exaggerate the problems of an extremely small minority of users. Is it any wonder that the Legalise Cannabis Alliance joins with the Lib Dems and accuses Blair and his cabinet of telling lies about cannabis - even his own back benchers such as Dr Ian Gibson, Paul Flynn, Dr Brian Iddon, John Owen Jones ... know it!
