Drugs danger

Letters, Hull Daily Mail

I recently read a letter published in your paper by a Fred Johnson, which
seemed to indicate that cannabis leads to harder drugs. This 'gateway
theory' has long since been written off as a desperate piece of propaganda
designed to keep people in fear of cannabis.

Mr Johnson is also very proud to admit his use of a legal painkiller. Was
he not aware that over 500 people a year die from paracetomol, more than 50
from Aspirin and 2 from Ibuprofen, all readily available in every corner
shop in the land. Not being aware of Mr. Johnsons medication I wouldn't
like to guess at his chances of survival.

Cannabis on the other hand has not been registered as the sole cause of
death ever, in 6000 years of it's history as a medicine. Also 120,000
people a year die from tobacco related disease, 30.000 from alcohol.

I know what I'd rather choose as my medicine!
