Murton, 24, admitted he was a heavy user of cannabis and admitted he supplied the drug to a few friends either in return for drugs or cash to fund his own habit. Murton admitted possession of cannabis with intent to supply. But after hearing how he was getting his life back on track and had managed to beat his heroin addiction Judge Daniel Worsley deferred his sentence for four months. He told him: “Drugs have brought you low and on the brink of a substantial prison sentence.” However after hearing how he had he was now getting his life back on track he deferred the sentence to see how Murton gets on with a detox programme. He also asked that he takes up a job offer and try to save £700 towards the prosecution costs. Azreen Mussa, mitigating, said that Murton had a number of difficulties in his life but had managed to give up his heroin addiction by taking cannabis and alcohol instead. “He did not seek help from anyone and went about it the wrong way.” She said he had only supplied a few friends as a way of financing his own habit. http://new.edp24.co.uk/content/news/story.aspx?brand=EDPOnline&category=News&
