UK: Lancing and Worthing drug raids four in court
West Sussex County Times Wednesday 05 Nov 2008 Three men and one woman are alleged to have conspired together to supply cannabis. Two of the men, Lee Russell and Paul Bradley, work at The Pier nightclub in Worthing. After appearing at Worthing Magistrates' Court yesterday (Wednesday), the case was referred to Chichester Crown Court, where all four will appear on February 19 next year. The group were released on bail and conditions were imposed which include forbidding the group from contacting each other, not to enter Freshbrook Road in Lancing and for Russell and Bradley to only have contact with each other while at work at The Pier. Charges Lee Russell, 39, from Ethelwulf Road, Worthing, is charged with three counts of being concerned in the supply of cannabis, conspiracy to supply cannabis and two proceeds of crime offences. Paul Bradley, 32, of Loder Gardens, Worthing, is charged with three counts of supplying cannabis and conspiracy to supply cannabis. Michael Allday, 43, of Leconfield Road, Lancing, is charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis and three counts of permitting the use of premises in Freshbook Road, Lancing, to supply cannabis. Wendy Edwards, 39, of Haybourne Road, Brighton, is charged with conspiracy to supply cannabis, three counts of supplying cannabis and one proceeds of crime offence. All four were arrested following raids on the alleged fortified cannabis café in Freshbrook Road, Lancing, on Wednesday, October 22. Two other properties in Lancing and two in Worthing were also raided by more than 50 police officers. One other man, a 19-year-old from Worthing, was released on bail in connection with the raids and is due to answer bail on November 18. http://www.wscountytimes.co.uk/
