Malta: Suspended sentence over possession of 0.4 grams of cannabis

A Polish national was yesterday given a six-month jail term suspended for a year, having pleaded guilty to being in possession of 0.4 grams of cannabis.

Twenty-six-year-old student Michal Pawel Kmiec, 26, who lives in Spain, was charged with importation and possession of the drug.

The court was presided over by magistrate Antonio Micallef Trigona. Police inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted and lawyer Renzo Porsella Flores appeared for the accused.
