Google To Run Marijuana Ads That Facebook Wouldn’t

Yesterday we told you about Facebook removing ads from its site from the “Just Say Now” cannabis legalization campaign that included a marijuana leaf, saying the leaf went against their policy of not “promoting smoking.” But have no fear, according to “Just Say Now,” Google has stepped up and agreed to run the ads.

I have to say, I didn’t expect this. Google doesn’t strike me as the site that would be open-minded enough to take the ads, but good for them. If it’s part of their strategy to crush Facebook, I hope they succeed.

This also proves my point from our post yesterday that Facebook could run the ads if they wanted to, they were just scared. Google has no problem running the ads. As I said yesterday, what’s going to happen? Will Google be boycotted for running ads that have a marijuana leaf in them? Will we all start using Bing?

I would think this obviously lack of fortitude would be embarrassing to Facebook. Google has shown why they dominate the internet. Keep an eye out for the marijuana legalization ads popping up around the web.
