Researchers at the University of New South Wales of Australia are planning to start a study in order to better understand cannabis withdrawal.

According to Dr. Melissa Norberg, who is the lead researcher of the study, there are known medical syndromes for those people, who give up drugs like heroin and cocaine, but such is not the case with cannabis.

Through the new study, scientists are hopeful that new treatment options will be developed to help those who want to leave marijuana habit.

For the study, the participants will be asked to smoke marijuana for all seven days. After that they will have to stop smoking for two weeks. They will also be asked to maintain a daily diary.

Daniel Csatlos saw an advertisement regarding the new study on cannabis withdrawal and became hopeful that it will give a new lease of life to all those who want to give up this habit.

Daniel got into the habit of smoking five years ago and since then he has been using cannabis almost every day.

Dr. Melissa while talking to ABC News on Friday said that the problems related to cannabis withdrawal are often overlooked, as generally no deaths are reported from this withdrawal.
