US: Arizona Prop 203 Suffers Defeat

In yet another loss for cannabis law reform forces, Arizona's medical marijuana law – Prop 203 – has lost among the state’s voters.

In a close vote, AZ voters rejected allowing sick people to use cannabis to treat their ailments. Think about that for a moment; sick people are not allowed to use a plant that might help them.

I heard someone say earlier tonight that the medical marijuana movement has run its course; and they may be right. Freedom doesn't only belong to the sick. Maybe we should be fighting for everyone to have the freedom to consume a plant if they want.

Medical cannabis has served its purpose and has helped millions of patients. But until we decide to go full force with legalization we aren't really fighting for everyone.
