Switzerland: Marijuana campaigner's farm sold off

The farm of the hunger striking drugs campaigner Bernard Rappaz has been sold off in a forced sale.

Speaking on Swiss television, his lawyer said the sale meant Rappaz had lost his last will to live.

Rappaz is currently serving a jail sentence for growing cannabis and is refusing food in protest.

A farmer from Saxon in the canton of Valais bought the farm for CHF 350,000 at auction.

The sale still has to be approved by the cantonal office for agriculture.
