Switzerland: No get out of jail early card for hash activist

Valais Justice Minister Esther Waeber-Kalbermatten says she won’t let marijuana advocate Bernard Rappaz out of his sentence.

Rappaz has been on hunger strike for a month.

He's currently hospitalized in Geneva and asked for his prison sentence to be suspended on health grounds.

The justice chief says Rappaz should accept medical intervention to preserve his health first.

Rappaz is currently facing five years in jail for violating federal drug laws.
