AC/DC Drummer Convicted Of Pot Possession

Gun Shy Assassin

Wednesday 01 Dec 2010

Phil Rudd — the drummer for Australia's AC/DC — was convicted of "cannabis possession" in an Australian court this morning. Rudd is a first time offender…and a hell of a drummer.

According to reports, police discovered the cannabis when they executed a search warrant on Rudd's boat October 7. Inside, they discovered 25 grams of cannabis and "a further two grams of cannabis at another location on the boat," the report says.

Rudd’s lawyer, Craig Tuck, asked the judge to go easy on his client, as a conviction could hinder his international travel plans. Translation: Dude won't be able to tour. "He travels extensively around the globe, across the planet, and on the basis of such criminality, which is low level offending, he is being targeted," Tuck argued.

As Rudd left the court, he told reporters, "I'm not a bad person." No, you are not a bad person Phil. You just like pot. I thought that shit was legal in Australia. Fuck, man — guess I was wrong. My question is, why did the police get a search warrant for his boat? Who is the fucking rat who sold Phil up the fucking river? Probably some jealous prick who wishes he could drum like Rudd. Anyways, Police objected to Tuck's request to have his client discharged without conviction, saying that if Rudd wanted to enter a country like the United States, he would still have to declare that he has been arrested on drug charges and appeared in court.

The judge — harshing Rudd's buzz — did not show the drummer any special treatment, and basically said that Rudd should have known how serious a drug conviction could be.

"It was not just an accident. You were blindly ignoring the law. You have been playing Russian roulette."
