UK:Tip Off Leads Police To Big Cannabis Haul In EastOxford
Oxford Mail Sunday 03 Apr 2011 Police raided the semi-detached house in The Grates, East Oxford, yesterday and found at least 300 cannabis plants, worth more than £90,000. Pcs Anthony Kirby, left, and Chrisy Cross are pictured carrying some of the plants out of the house. No-one was in the house at the time of the raid and police are searching for the tenant. Last night landlord Khurshid Ahmed vowed never to be caught out again. The father-of-two, from Leicester, tipped off police after being unable to contact his tenants after receiving complaints from neighbours about odd activities. Mr Ahmed said: "I can't tell you how angry I am right now. "I tipped police off as soon as I knew something suspicious was happening but I wish I had done it earlier. "I know I have the benefit of hindsight but I am furious that I did not stop them before." Pc Kirby said some of the cannabis could have ended up on the streets of Oxford. He said: "It's certainly a big haul. This was a professional-looking set-up, which had been designed to cultivate a large number of cannabis plants." http://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/8949969.Tip_off_leads_police_to_big_cannabis_haul_in_East_Oxford/
