UK: Police raid Edgbaston cannabis factory

POLICE smashed a cannabis factory found inside a house in Birmingham.

Officers executed a drugs warrant in Gillott Road, Edgbaston, yesterday and uncovered about 100 cannabis plants, along with heat lamps and hydroponic equipment.

Sgt Mick Richards, from Edgbaston police, said: "We are very pleased with the result of the warrant and I hope it sends out a clear message that drugs and drug use will not be tolerated within our communities."

The drugs were taken away for destruction. No one was arrested but police said officers were continuing efforts to trace those behind the drugs factory.
