Canada: See that cloud of smoke? It’s the annual pot rally

Whatever you like to call it, more than 10,000 people will be doing it at the Vancouver Art Gallery this afternoon.

It’s the annual 4/20 rally celebrating marijuana culture.

Jacob Hunter, rally organizer and spokesperson, said this year’s event will have a particularly political tone considering how close it is to the federal election.

"Stephen Harper's obsession with throwing peaceful cannabis users in jail paints a clear picture of our options May 2," he said.

"Our mission (today) is to tell the thousands in attendance to ... return Canada to a path of progressive, rational and scientific policy on drugs under a new government."

Hunter added the City of Vancouver has been very supportive of the event.
