A "March for Cannabis Liberation" is happening in Kelowna this Saturday.

In fact, rallies are being held in more than 300 cities around the world.

"We would love to see it legalised. There are a lot of medical values to it, also, with the cannabis we could save our planet. We could use it for food, we could use it for building materials, and it's a plant that is harvested every three months," says Dianne Williams from local group Grannies for Grass.

She says tomorrows rallies are aimed at sharing information and dispelling myths.

"It is a plant and it is not as harmful as we've been led to believe over the years," says Williams.

The march gets underway at 2pm tomorrow, on the corner of Ethel St and Stockwell Ave.
