UK: Cardiff: Hundreds take part in pro-marijuana march in city by Wayne Nowaczyk Wales on Sunday Sunday 08 May 2011 There was a pungent aroma left hanging in the air as the second annual Million Marijuana March took to the streets. Around 350 demonstrators, mostly aged under 30 and good natured, were aiming to raise awareness of their call to legalise registered distribution to adults of cannabis. But the campaigners were accused of handing out misleading leaflets which claimed cannabis could reverse multiple sclerosis. The good-natured crowd was made up mostly of students but included a handful in wheelchairs and others in suits and ties. They carried banners claiming: “No Victim, No Crime” and “Cannabis Saves” as bobbies kept a discrete watch. This is the second year running that Pontprennau office worker Rhys Morgan, aged 26, has organised the march. He insisted: “Cannabis has been demonised but it’s not harmful in the way they’d have us believe.” But Cardiff resident and MS sufferer Jodie Watson, 27, was furious after following the march and being handed a leaflet claiming cannabis could reverse MS.
