Malaysia: Ugandan nabbed with RM350,000 worth of drugs

ALOR SETAR: A 34-year-old Ugandan businessman was arrested with 15.8kg of cannabis and heroin worth RM350,000 near a petrol kiosk in Tanah Merah, Jitra.

Kedah deputy police chief Senior Assistant Comm Datuk Abdul Ghafar Rajab said 15 compressed blocks of cannabis weighing 15kg and 806gm of heroin were found in his bag and knapsack after a tip-off.

"A police team led by Chief Insp Al Husin Halil stopped the suspect as he was walking by the petrol kiosk. He tried to run away when they identified themselves but he was overpowered.

"We checked the bags and found the cannabis and heroin worth RM53,000 and RM300,000," he told a press conference at the police contingent headquarters on Sunday.
