UK: Burnley drug suppliers jailed for 8 months
Lancashire Telegraph Thursday 09 Jun 2011 Burnley Crown Court heard how Gino Taylor, who had previously been at university, studying to become a chartered surveyor, and his accomplice, Ryan Riley, also said to have potential, were caught red-handed. They had travelled in a vehicle to a quiet, secluded car park in Burnley, and were about to deal to a customer they had arranged to meet when police turned up. Riley, who was the passenger, tried to get rid of some of the drugs stash under the car. Taylor had been at the wheel. A ‘cosh’ and £1,400 were found in the vehicle by officers. The defendants, both 23, and from Rawtenstall, had earlier admitted possessing cannabis with intent to supply, last November. Sentencing Taylor, of Haslingden Road, and his co-defendant, of Burnley Road, Recorder Jeremy Lasker said they had been in it together and the things found in the car were concerning. The judge said one of the pair had had several hundred pounds in his back pocket and had claimed it was from horse racing but he was very sceptical about that. Mr James said Taylor was hoping to complete his third year at university if possible. Martin Hackett, defending Riley, said he too had potential, but had a record and in the past had not behaved in the correct way. http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/rossendale/9075922.Burnley_drug_suppliers_jailed_for_8_months/
