Letter: Show Some Compassion For Those Who Need Weed

I just read about the closure of the Compassion Club in the Chilliwack Times and the comments made by the mayor.

In a city with such a significant property crime rate, I would have thought that she would welcome a business such as this.

I think we all know that people who require medical marijuana and the club owners are not the ones responsible for property crime. The unfortunate thing is that, without access to prescribed medication through compassion clubs, patients are forced to seek it from the same criminals who sell the drugs that supplies the addicts responsible for the property crime, further feeding the criminal element.

Hopefully the community will soon realize this and allow them to reopen.
