US: Nation’s First Marijuana Street Fair This Weekend In Oakland, CA

Friday 02 Sep 2011

This weekend the country’s first ever cannabis street fair is being held in Oakland, CA in front of city hall. In fact, the fair will have a "Prop 215" area directly in front of city hall where legal medical marijuana patients can medicate when in need.

The fair will also have everything else you would expect from a marijuana fair, including music and vendors.

Yet another event cementing Oakland’s place as the cannabis capital of the U.S. With Oaksterdam University and a wide variety of cannabis businesses, Oakland’s city government and economy has benefited greatly from medical marijuana and CA Prop 215.

So basically there will be people smoking cannabis in the street in Oakland this weekend, and society will undoubtedly survive. In fact, there is likely to be no incidents of any consequence.

Oakland is a small preview of what is possible under full marijuana legalization. Increased revenues, more jobs and people gathering in the street in peace instead of brawling and rioting like a bunch of raging morons.
