US: Protests against DEA raids planned for this week Yessenia Anderson NewsWatch 12 Monday 17 Oct 2011 In response to the DEA raids, local medical marijuana organizations have rallied outside the grows that the medicine were taken from. But as the raids continue, local organizations including the Cannabis Community Center and The Greenery are now planning to take their protest to the streets of Medford. Organizers said they are now hoping to reach people outside of the cannabis community. "To what's happening to their friends and neighbors and their local citizens I feel like if most of us knew what was happening there would be a much bigger uprising," said organizer, Andrea Adams. The group has planned a rally set to take place this coming Wednesday. The protest will begin at the Cannabis Community Center downtown at noon and will head down the street pass the court house and will end back at the community center. The Greenery in Ashland is offering carpool options for those who want to attend. They advise anyone who is interested to be at their location at eleven that morning. The Greenery: 542 Washington st. Suite 100, Ashland OR. http://kdrv.com/page/227801
