UK: Drugs grower stole 1,380 UKP of electricity
Bristol Evening Post Saturday 22 Oct 2011 Herbert Hancock, 37, was caught after police executed a search warrant at his property in Marissal Road in July this year. During the raid 19 cannabis plants were found in the back bedroom and two glass jars containing cannabis. An electrician also confirmed that the electricity meter in the property had been bypassed. At Bristol Magistrates' Court Hancock pleaded guilty to producing a quantity of cannabis, dishonestly using £1,380 of electricity and possessing 54.94g of cannabis. Jeremy Oliver, prosecuting, said there was an element of professionalism in the set up to grow cannabis at Hancock's house. Emily Evans, defending, said her client accepted all the charges but had put forward his plea on the basis the cannabis he grew was only produced for his own use. She added that Hancock had no previous convictions or cautions. Magistrates bailed Hancock on unconditional bail and ordered a pre-sentence report. He will appear at Bristol Crown Court on November 11. http://www.thisisbristol.co.uk/Drugs-grower-stole-pound-1-380-electricity/story-13631139-detail/story.html
