UK: Woman found guilty of growing cannabis
The Bolton News Thursday 10 Nov 2011 Victoria McCarthy, aged 28, denied cultivating cannabis in the garage of her home in Warbreck Close, Breightmet, after police found 19 plants on December 7, 2010. Officers found the plants when they were called out to the home after McCarthy called police about her former partner, Marcus Cameron, with whom she had a 'volatile relationship' with. Police found the door of the garage ajar, Bolton Crown Court heard. The court heard a lead from the dehumidifier was found running from the garage to the kitchen, along with the plants. Unemployed McCarthy, who said she did use cannabis, denied any knowledge of the drugs being grown and said if she had known who had grown them she would have made them remove them. She also told the court she was scared of spiders so would not go into garages or closed spaces. McCarthy admitted spending around £20 a week on cannabis for her personal use but said she was not involved in the growing of drugs. She was found guilty yesterday and will be sentenced next month. http://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/news/9355777.Woman_found_guilty_of_growing_cannabis/
