Matt Meade

Thursday 10 Nov 2011

THE stench of Cannabis in a Rosyth housing estate led police to a £6000 dope haul yesterday (Wednesday).

Officers seized a number of cannabis plants as well as equipment used in their cultivation at a home in Granville Way

They acted after noticing the strong smell of cannabis in the area.

A man and woman have been charged and a report is to be submitted to the procurator fiscal.

Rosyth community sergeant Tony Rogers said, "Cannabis cultivations are inherently dangerous given the lighting and heat required, and the associated increased electrical demand.

"This latest search demonstrates that these activities will not be tolerated by police in Rosyth."
