Algeria: A French sentenced to 20 years in prison by the criminal court in Algiers

ALGIERS - A French, arrested in 2010 at the port of Algiers as was preparing to leave for Marseilles, in possession of a large quantity of drugs (cannabis) was sentenced Sunday to 20 years in prison by the criminal court Algiers

According to the indictment, the accused, Abdelaziz Dakhil Sami, admitted during interrogation to have been asked by someone known only by a first name and who livesin France, to procure him from Algeria a large quantity of cannabis against the sum of 10,000 euros.

Arrived in Algiers, the accused traveled to Khenchla where a trafficker in the region has hidden cannabis in the tank of his vehicle.

The dealer also gave him a map of the roads in the area with gendarmerie and police checkpoints, including the axis Lakhdaria-Algiers, the main axis between the capital and the east.
