UK: Four men jailed over series of cannabis farms Gary Stewart, Liverpool Echo Friday 16 Dec 2011 Gang leader Peter Blackburn, 47, was jailed at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday alongside three henchmen for growing and selling harvests of skunk at four locations between October 2010 and their arrests in May. Jason Smith, prosecuting, said: "In simple terms this case involves large-scale production and supply across the Merseyside, Cheshire and Greater Manchester areas. "These were sophisticated operations capable of producing significant amounts of cannabis and, therefore, significant profits." Undercover police observed each defendant at one or more drug farms including School Lane, Stockport; Northway, Whiston; Wenlock Drive, Halewood and Utkington Methodist Chapel, Quarrybank, Cheshire. At School Lane alone police recovered cannabis with a street value up to £120,000 and evidence that it was not the first crop to be harvested. All four defendants pleaded guilty to conspiracy to grow and supply class B drugs.
