Belize: Visitor Came To Belize For High Times

A tourist who came to Belize for some high times now risks imprisonment after he was busted at the airport. Fifty two year old American national Richard Eli, was found with 5 grams of Cannabis and a pipe yesterday at Philip Goldson International Airport.

He pleaded guilty to possession of a controlled drug and a pipe when he appeared today in the #6 Magistrate's court. Magistrate Dorothy Flowers fined him $350 for the cannabis and $600 for the pipe. She ordered him to pay the fines forthwith. If he defaults on payment he will serve 9 months.

Eli was busted when he arrived at the airport via a flight from the U.S.

The cannabis was found in the left pocket of his pants and the pipe was found in his luggage. So far Eli has not paid the fine.
