Police in Bristol have raided four cannabis factories in just one week, confiscating cannabis plants with a street value of over £100,000.

Twenty-one plants were found when the Trinity Road neighbourhood team raided two factories at Broughton House, Redcliffe, on Tuesday following a tip-off from the local community.

A further 89 plants with a street value of £89,000 were discovered at two properties in Barton Hill on Wednesday and Thursday.

Police have arrested a 54-year-old man and a 37-year-old man in connection with the factories in Redcliffe, while investigations are ongoing for the two in Barton Hill.

Neighbourhood Inspector Chris Regan said: "2012 is already shaping up to be a bad year for drug dealers operating in our area. In the first week of the year we arrested another eight people for drug dealing in Easton.

"We hope that drug dealers are taking note and thinking about a change of career for the New Year!"
