Cannabis 'grown using online guidebook'
UTV News Thursday 26 Jan 2012 Annette Cambridge said she used all the Class B drugs herself to ease her suffering from back pain. The 39-year-old, of Woodburn Avenue, Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, admitted two charges of possessing and cultivating cannabis. She was sentenced to 18 months probation on each count. Belfast Magistrates' Court heard police discovered seven plants in a shed behind her home during searches last August. A prosecutor said: "The defendant stated she had grown the plants having learned to do so and bought the necessary booklet on the internet." Cambridge told police the drugs were for her own personal use. Defence solicitor Tony Bergin told the court: "Her excuse is that she does have aches and pains that normal medication doesn't facilitate. "I'm not a medical person, but she said she had been using it for medical reasons to relieve the pain she had been suffering." District Judge Fiona Bagnall ruled that the probation orders were appropriate in the case. http://www.u.tv/News/Cannabis-grown-using-online-guidebook/e5185cdf-ee17-42b0-888a-05d51578f5ac
