Spain: DRUGS HAUL ACROSS ANDALUCIA

Last week saw several successful drugs hauls in Andalucía, including one ton of cannabis which was confiscated in a Guardia Civil operation on a beach in El Ejido last Saturday.

Nineteen packets of the drug were found on the San Miguel Beach in Almerimar which it is believed arrived on the shore shortly before police arrived on the scene. The action was initiated after detecting late at night on Saturday 28th January. Approaching the beach area where they had located the group, police officers observed numerous bales of hashish pills and 4 bundles hidden among the vegetation.

With the support of other service patrols, Guardia Civil continued with the reconnaissance of the beach, with the intention of locating and arresting participants in the stash of drugs. They quickly arrested one man but other suspects managed to escape.

In Granada, a couple were arrested following a National Police operation, accused of supplying local dealers across the province. Greenhouses containing more than 400 plants were found in their home in Pinos Puente along with 46,000€E.
