UK: Woman grew drug for 'medicinal use'

A 59-YEAR-OLD Gloucester woman grew cannabis in her back garden because she didn't like taking pills.

Linda Meyers, of Weston Road pleaded guilty to producing the Class B drug at Gloucester Magistrates' Court.

Prosecuting solicitor Sharon Jomaa said: "Police executed a search warrant at the defendant's home.

"She was arrested and she told police that she intended to use the drug as a relaxant as she had a medical conditional."

District Judge Martin Brown committed the case to Gloucester Crown Court for sentence, and bailed her.
