A Midsomer Norton woman has been handed a 12 week curfew and fined £50 for growing cannabis in her home.

Magistrates told Melinda Smith, 40, she must stay at her flat at Southwell, Paulton Road, Midsomer Norton between the hours of 7pm and 7am daily when she appeared before the court on February 8.

Magistrates said the reason for the significant sentence was that the offence had been committed while Smith was on bail for criminal damage and another charge of growing the Class B drug.
